Activities Schedule

Western Village RV Park presents a complete schedule of events and planned activities throughout the camping season. In addition, a wide range of outstanding events are held outside of the campground but in the immediate area. Use the following calendar as a guide when making your plans and choosing the time of your stays. In addition to these scheduled events, thanks to our long list of recreational amenities, a wide range of spontaneous activities is likely to be taking place at any given time.

March 31 - April 2 Spring Fever: PA Trout Season opens (April 1) with excellent fishing in nearby creeks and streams. 20% off campers staying both Friday & Saturday (includes cabins.) Get out in the fresh air, open up, de-winterize, and set up for the season. Free coffee and donuts on Saturday morning.
April 14-16 Tax Relief Discount Weekend: Taxes are done and it’s time to relax with some discount camping. Stay Friday and receive Saturday night ½ price, PLUS receive a coupon for a ½ price night of camping toward a future 2 night stay.
April 19-23 Spring Carlisle Car Swap Meet Car Corral & Auction at the Carlisle Fairgrounds, only 3.5 miles from Western Village. (2-night minimum.)


May 12-14 Mother’s Day: Treat Mom to a weekend of camping and our annual pancake/sausage breakfast on Saturday morning ($). Free for Mom along with mini-golf, and a craft for kids ($).
May 19-21 Seasonal/Monthly Picnic Lunch held on Saturday. Carlisle Import & Performance Nationals at the Fairgrounds. (2-night minimum.)
May 26-29 Memorial Day Weekend: The pool opens for the season! Corn hole, softball, volleyball, and horseshoes, games for the kids, and 2 nights of bingo, and Country Express returns Sunday evening. 20% camping discount for retired and active military and police with proper ID at check-in. (3-night minimum, holiday visitor’s fee.)


June 2-4 Wine Tasting Event: An informal, fun and educational social event provided by Mountain Lake Winery (on Saturday evening.) Glass Painting on Saturday at 9:00 AM ($). Ford Nationals at the Carlisle Fairgrounds.(2-night minimum.)
June 9-11 Camper Appreciation I: Our campers are the greatest and to show our appreciation we are offering 20% off RV & tent sites, and cabin rentals this weekend. Half price mini-golf and pedal kart rentals. And to top it off we are hosting an ice cream social! Just our little way of saying thank you for your continued support. We appreciate you all!
June 16-18 Father’s Day Weekend: Dads play mini-golf free, and eat free at our annual pancake/sausage breakfast honoring them on Saturday morning, ($) for others. Dads’/kids’ games and Karaoke. The 89th Annual Jubilee Day (Thursday, June 15) is the largest one-day street fair on the East Coast, held in nearby downtown Mechanicsburg. (2-night minimum.)
June 23-25 Gas Saver Weekend / Mountain Pie Cook-off: So you think you make the tastiest Mountain Pies, Hobo Pies, Camper Pies, or whatever you call those tasty little gems? Please join us for a good old fashioned culinary competition! Categories are 1) Sweet (dessert pie) and 2) Savory (meat, seafood, egg or vegetable pie). Prizes awarded and winners are eligible to participate in the state competition at the Gratz Fair, in Gratz, PA in September to win more prizes! Call the office for more details. If camping with us next weekend, leave your camper on site (based on availability) for free (if disconnected from electric, $4/day if using electric.) Carlisle Chevrolet Nationals held at the Fairgrounds.


June 30 - July 2 Happy Birthday, America!: Corn hole, volleyball, softball, horseshoes, bingo, and kids’ games. Tom Patterson’s Vintage Rock returns! (2-night minimum, holiday visitor’s fee.) Fireworks at the Carlisle Fairgrounds.
July 7-9 Water Wars: Prepare for battle and bring your squirt guns and water bombs! Pool Volleyball and Karaoke. The Sawptician, chainsaw carver Kevin Treat, will be here.
July 14-16 It’s all about the Chocolate / National Ice Cream Day: Chocolate and ice cream themed activities. Paint Your Own Pottery on Saturday at 9:00 AM ($). Carlisle Chrysler Nationals at the Fairgrounds. (2-night minimum.)
July 21-23 Christmas in July / Annual Toy Drive: A fun weekend for young and old alike! Decorate your site in your holiday best! Prizes awarded. Christmas turkey/ham dinner with your trimmings, an ugly sweater/shirt contest, hayride with Santa, and Bob’s Critters Reptile and Bird Program. Gourd Craft Kits on Saturday at 9:00 AM ($). Please bring an unwrapped toy for our annual Toys for Tots toy drive for the U.S Marine Corps. (Holiday visitor’s fee.)
July 28-30 Lazy Days of Summer: No planned activities … relax by the pool or your campfire and do nothing, and enjoy our park’s amenities.


August 4-6 Bingo Mania: Candy bar, regular and Vera Bradley/Longaberger bingo! Truck Nationals at the Fairgrounds. Canvas Painting on Saturday at 8:00 PM ($). (2-night minimum.)
August 11-13 Western Weekend: Chicken BBQ ($) (Limited # tickets sold in advance) along with your covered dish. A flashlight treasure hunt, & Western themed activities! Party Animalz Farm Pony Rides & Petting Zoo. Country line and partner dancing with City Slickers & Country Kickers on Saturday night!
August 18-20 Retro Weekend: Create your own tie-dye t-shirt ($) Groovy activities/games. Men & Machine, the two man band, return on Saturday evening.
August 25-27 May the “Corn” be with you: Corn roast potluck, corn shucking contest and corn hole! Tom Patterson’s Vintage Rock returns for your dance/listening fun! Corvettes at Carlisle (24th-27th) at the Fairgrounds. Nearby, the 37th Annual Shippensburg Corn Festival (26th). (2-night minimum.)


September 1-4 Labor Day: Two nights of bingo, corn hole, volleyball, softball, and horseshoe tournaments, and kids’ games. The SwiftKick Band is back! Last Sunday worship of the season with Randy Simpson’s music ministry. (3-night minimum; holiday visitor’s fee.)
September 8-10 Patriots Day Weekend - Military & First Responders Discount / Grandparents Day Weekend: If you’re a firefighter, policeman, EMT or a member of the Armed Forces, you stay 2 nights for the price of one, with ID, PLUS receive a coupon for one free night of camping toward a future 2 night stay. Grandparents camping with the grandkids receive 20% off your weekend stay.
September 13-17 49th Annual PA RV Camping Show: Held in nearby Hershey, this is America’s Largest RV Show! Approximately 30 minutes from park.
September 22-24 Fall Harvest Celebration: Cider pressing, apple butter boiling, corn shelling, apple dessert baking contest, and a fall harvest potluck dinner on Saturday night.


September 27 - October 1 Fall Carlisle at the fairgrounds. (2-night minimum.)
October 6-8 Pigskin Potluck Party: Wear your favorite team’s jersey, decorate your site, and join in some football themed activities. Tailgate potluck dinner on Saturday evening. We’ll provide the hotdogs! First weekend of the The 53rd Annual National Apple Harvest Festival nearby. (October 7-8)
October 13-15 Spooktacular Fun Weekend / Stuff-a-Tent Annual Food Drive: Site decorating, pumpkin carving, costume judging, scavenger hunt, haunted hayride (weather permitting), treat gathering and more! Help us stuff our tent by donating non-perishable food items for the local food pantry. Your generosity will help our neighbors in need. By donating, you will qualify for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate. (2-night minimum; holiday visitor’s fee.)
October 20-22 Camper Appreciation II: We are offering 20% off 2 nights of camping, along with store discounts!
