Activities Schedule

Western Village RV Park presents a complete schedule of events and planned activities throughout the camping season. In addition, a wide range of outstanding events are held outside of the campground but in the immediate area. Use the following calendar as a guide when making your plans and choosing the time of your stays. In addition to these scheduled events, thanks to our long list of recreational amenities, a wide range of spontaneous activities is likely to be taking place at any given time.

April 3-5 Spring Fever: PA Trout Season opens (April 4) with excellent fishing in nearby creeks and streams. 20% off campers staying both Friday & Saturday. Get out in the fresh air, open up, de-winterize, and set up for the season. Free coffee and donuts on Saturday morning.
April 10-12 Tax Relief Discount Weekend: Finish your taxes early then relax with some discount camping. Stay Friday & receive Saturday night ½ price, PLUS receive a coupon for a ½ price night of camping toward a future 2 night stay.
April 22-26 Spring Carlisle Car Swap Meet Car Corral & Auction at the 102-acre Carlisle Fairgrounds. Only 3.5 miles from Western Village. (2-night minimum.)


May 1-3 May Day Celebration: Hot dog roast & s’more’s along with your covered dish. 60th Annual Apple Blossom Festival: Live entertainment, arts & craft demonstrations, free orchard bus tours, and much more! (May 2-3, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
May 8-10 Mother’s Day Weekend: Treat Mom to a weekend of camping and our annual pancake/sausage breakfast on Saturday morning ($). Free for Mom along with mini-golf, and a craft for kids. Mom and child game.
May 15-17 Seasonal/Monthly Picnic Lunch held Saturday. Carlisle Import & Kit Nationals at the Fairgrounds. (2-night minimum.)
May 22-25 Memorial Day Weekend: The pool opens for the season! Softball, volleyball, and horseshoe tournaments, games for the kids, and 2 nights of bingo. Devoted Praize and Country Express are here. 20% camping discount for retired and active military and police with proper ID at check-in. (3-night minimum, holiday visitor’s fee.)


June 5-7 Zany Chicken Fun: Craft, chicken egg hunt, egg toss and others. Wings & things, we provide the wings along with your things (side dishes, and desserts). Ford Nationals at the Carlisle Fairgrounds. (2-night minimum.)
June 12-14 Birthday Weekend / National Camping Month Special: We’re celebrating everyone’s birthday this weekend with some party games, cake and ice cream! Stay Friday & Saturday nights and receive a coupon for one free night of camping toward a future 2 night stay this year.
June 19-21 Father’s Day Weekend: Dads play mini-golf free, and eat free at our annual pancake/sausage breakfast honoring them on Saturday morning, ($) for others. Kids’ craft for Dad. Father/Son kickball game. 87th Annual Jubilee Day (June 18) is the largest one-day street fair on the Eastern U.S. Live music, plenty of food, and arts & craft vendors in nearby Mechanicsburg.
June 26-28 Game Show Fun/Gas Saver Special: Bring your family and join in the fun playing some popular games! If camping with us next weekend, leave your camper on site (based on availability) for free (if disconnected from electric). Carlisle GM Nationals held at the Fairgrounds. (2-night minimum.)


July 3-5 4th of July: Patriotic parade (pets too!), volleyball, softball, horseshoes, bingo Friday & Saturday nights, and kids’ games. Tom Patterson’s Vintage Rock returns! (2-night minimum, holiday visitor’s fee.)
July 10-12 Bingo/Ice Cream Mania: Vera Bradley, regular and ice cream bingo, make some home-made ice cream and different ice cream themed activities. Carlisle Chrysler Nationals held at the fairgrounds. (2-night minimum.)
July 17-19 It’s All About the Chocolate: Chocolate flashlight hunt, candy bar bingo, and other fun chocolate themed activities. Carlisle Style & Performance at the Fairgrounds. (2-night minimum.)
July 24-26 Christmas in July: A fun weekend for young and old alike! Christmas turkey/ham dinner with your trimmings, an ugly sweater/shirt contest, cookie exchange, hayride with Santa, Meadowbrooke Gourds craft ($), and magician and comedian, Al Grout, is back to entertain all! Please bring an unwrapped toy for our annual Toys for Tots toy drive for the U.S Marine Corps. (Holiday visitor’s fee.)


July 31 - August 2 Kick Back & Relax: No planned activities … relax by the pool or at your campsite or play a game of shuffleboard, horseshoes, mini-golf, etc.
August 7-9 Redneck Fun: Join us for some good ole fun with games like seed spitting contest, pass the plunger, and more, and then end the evening with karaoke! Truck Nationals at the Fairgrounds. (2-night minimum.)
August 14-16 Western Weekend: Flashlight treasure hunt, western themed games and a DJ pool party!
August 21-23 Wet & Wild: Prepare for battle and bring your squirt guns and water bombs! Pool volleyball, wet sponge tag and more! Men & Machine return Saturday evening.
August 28-30 Retro Weekend: Bubble gum blowing contest and other old time games/activities, tie-dye one of our t-shirts or bring a white pillow case to dye ($), and Tom Patterson’s Vintage Rock returns for your dance/listening fun! Corvettes at Carlisle at the Fairgrounds. Nearby, the 35th Annual Shippensburg Corn Festival (29th). (2-night minimum.)


September 4-7 Labor Day: 2 nights of bingo, volleyball, softball, and horseshoe tournaments, and kids’ games. Marie Levin returns with her “Reba” Tribute Show! Last Sunday worship of the season with Randy Simpson’s music ministry.  (3-night minimum; holiday visitor’s fee.)
September 11-13 Heroes/Grandparents Day Weekend: If you’re a firefighter, policeman, EMT or a member of the Armed Forces, you stay 2 nights for the price of one, with ID, PLUS receive a coupon for one free night of camping toward a future 2 night stay. Grandparents camping with the grandkids receive 20% off your weekend stay.
September 16-20 47th Annual PA RV Camping Show: Held in nearby Hershey, this is America’s Largest RV Show! Approx. 30 minutes from park.
September 25-27 Fall Harvest: Cider pressing, apple butter boiling, corn shelling, apple pie baking contest, and a fall harvest potluck dinner Saturday night.


Sept. 30 - October 4 Fall Carlisle at the fairgrounds. The 51st Annual National Apple Harvest Festival, held at nearby South Mt. Fairgrounds. Food, entertainment, arts & craft vendors, demonstrations and more. (October 3-4) (2-night minimum.)
October 9-11 Tailgate Party/Chili Cook-Off: Wear your favorite team’s jersey, decorate your site, and join in some football themed activities. Think you make the best Chili? Bring a pot of yours, and let the judges decide who gets the prize!
October 16-18 Spooky Fun Weekend/ Food Drive: Site decorating, pumpkin carving, costume judging, scavenger hunt, haunted house, treat gathering and more! We are requesting donations of non-perishable food items in exchange for haunted house tickets, with items being donated to the local “Project Share”. (2-night minimum; holiday visitor’s fee.)
